Alva Kershaw is a native of Richmond, Virginia. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from The College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Virginia, Masters of Social Work (M.S.W.) from The School of Social Work at Virginia Commonwealth University, and Masters of Divinity (M. Div.) from The Samuel Dewitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University.

Alva has practice experience in various community settings and continues to evolve in her professional growth. She is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and ordained as a pastor. It is through her work and passion as a therapist that she developed Touchstone Counseling Services where she provides outpatient therapy, education, coaching, energy healing, and professional development. The mission of Touchstone Counseling Services to serve as a catalyst to help community members reach their goals and to reach their highest potential.
